Welcome to SPLC2010!
General Chair: Kyo C. Kang
Welcome to SPLC2010 and welcome to the beautiful island of Jeju! It is the 2nd time the International Software Product Line Conference (SPLC) came to Asia, where the IT-related industry is a key motive power for economic development and prosperity. The current trend of globalization and rapid movement towards IT-embedded society is pressuring industries to explore ways to meet diverse needs of the global market most effectively and efficiently.
Over the last decade or so, software product line has emerged as one of the most promising software development paradigms in drastically increasing the productivity of IT-related industries, and the product line community has grown and is still growing rapidly. The engineering discipline of software product line has emerged as the “Power for Competitive Advantage.”
SPLC is the most prestigious and leading forum for researchers, practitioners, and educators in the field. SPLC2010 will provide a venue for exchanging, sharing, and learning technologies and industrial experiences to the community. The conference will feature research and experience papers, tutorials, workshops, panels, doctoral symposium, and demonstrations. We encourage you to take full advantage of this precious opportunity.
Creation of this outstanding technical program is not possible without contribution by many people. I sincerely thank to authors, poster presenters, doctoral student session participants, workshop organizers and participants, tutorial presenters, keynote speakers, and panel participants who came from all over the world to share their research works, practical experiences, and valuable insights and knowledge with others.
In preparation for this conference, many people have contributed their time and efforts and worked diligently over a year. To all members of SPLC2010 team, “Thank you very much!” My special thanks go to the Software Engineering Society under the Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers, and the industrial sponsors for their generous financial support and donations. Without these supports, holding this conference may not have been possible.
Finally, I thank you, the conference attendees. We are very grateful for your attendance and participation. I hope that you have chances to meet experts from all over the world and have a fruitful time at SPLC2010. Thank you and enjoy the conference!
